Queen’s Birthday Picnic

The Park was looking brilliant on the day of the Queen’s birthday picnic! The council have been cutting the grass regularly and it looks a lot tidier.

The railings and pavilion were decorated with union jack flags and bunting:

Even our banner had a little crown of flags:

The children enjoyed playing with the flags and tooters that Paul and Emma Jayne brought. There was also jenga, skittles, cricket and football games and all the imaginative play that is possible in a large green space with mature hedges with little gaps and dens and hidey places.

Our ward councillors Nicki Brooks and Paul Wilkinson joined us with their umbrellas. When the rain stopped at about 4pm, more people came along with tea and biscuits.
