Onchan Park General Meeting Minutes
Monday 6th June 2016 at St John’s Church, Oakdale Road, Carlton
1. Minutes from the previous General meeting -Agreed – Actions points checked and completed
2. Focus Groups – Sacred Heart visit planned for 7th June to do a focus group, we need to chase Carlton le Willows for an update to check everything they had promised had been done, we are still chasing Carlton Academy and have emailed the school for its support
3. House to House – We are going round the local area to ask local residents to complete our survey and sign the online petition – This is working well and information to be collated ready for our proposition.
4. Gedling Borough Council – The council have been busy on the park cleaning it up and we are hoping to have some new tennis nets, so keep a look out for some updates on the park. We still haven’t heard from the council regarding timescales and when they will be seeking public consultation regarding the park.
5. Website – Visit the website to keep up to date on the news and download our poster to display in your window. The website has postings about up and coming events. We are looking to close the online survey on 30th June 2016.
6. Posters – being distributed to the shops also in the schools advertising the support for Onchan Park and the Queen’s birthday picnic.
7. Two banners have been ordered – one is now on the railings at the park the other will shortly be going up at Parkdale school, then will be rotated around the other local schools.
8. Queen’s birthday on Sunday 12th June – enjoy a picnic on the park
9. Family Fun Day will be on Sunday 31st July 2016 – details to follow and help needed to man stalls, do children’s games and ensure a good day out.
