Pavilion Update

Friends of Onchan Park have asked local schools and groups to design murals to be painted on the Onchan Park pavilion wall and windows. The pavilion (the building in the middle of Onchan Park) is currently boarded up and looking very sad.

We needed a large mural on the wall facing the play area and 14 smaller designs to cover the boarded windows.

The competition was open to all primary schools and groups who have supported the campaign to save the park.  The prize for the lucky winners is to have their design painted by a professional graffiti artist on the pavilion. The theme is ‘Fun In The Park’ and we have had over 170 entries from four schools (Carlton Central Junior School, Carlton Central Infant and Nursery School, Parkdale Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School).  The entries will be judged by our local councillors Paul Wilkinson and Nicki Brooks and the winner will be announced on Sunday September 18th at 2pm at Onchan Park.

Friends of Onchan Park hope to see you on Sunday 18th September at 2pm at Oakdale Road Recreation Ground.
